VETERAN’S MEMORIAL PARK.  Highway 380, Capitan.  A memorial honoring Capitan’s Veterans.

MAY 2 & 3 – 4th ANNUAL SMOKEY BEAR DAYS  Fire prevention  and conservation programs and demonstrations. Activities for kids and adults. Smokey Bear will visit throughout both days and be there to cut his birthday cake! The Marketplace features arts ,crafts , gifts, Smokey Bear memorabilia, and great food. Special Post Office Cancellation Stamp at the Post Office. Chainsaw carving and contest. Smokey Bear cold air balloons on display .Dance with DJ and Karaoke Contest Friday 3-7pm. Parade on Saturday morning. MAY 8– AG DAY- 8am to 2pm Lincoln County Fair Grounds – Elementary Students –Grades K thru 5 will observe and participate in all kinds of agricultural demonstrations.

MAY 10-CURIOUS CONTAINER PLANTING DAY- Contact Gregg Russell 354-2327 for information about Curious Containers to be created by local artist and businesses to beautify our town.
